Where/when born?[edit]

The NZ 1935-36 references/reviews of his early novels say he was born in New Plymouth. In RG online website as born 9 July 1905 to Walter and Martha Dulcibel Brodie. However the registration is 1925/3385, so regularised later under Section 24. The NZ Herald of 29 July 1905 p1 has a son on 9 July 1925 to wife of Walter Brodie at Paeroa.
