Faking his folksiness and southern accent[edit]

I see there is no mention in this article right from the get-go that this man's persona and popularity largely stems from his homespun manner of speaking and whimsical anecdotes. However, it's totally fake as Kennedy has a law degree from the University of Virginia and was a Rhodes Scholar getting a First from Oxford University in England. He plays dumb on TV to appeal to his state voters. He ain't dumb nor is he folskie. When his entire shtick is to come across as a southern patrician with homespun banter and affected accent, it's egregious to omit the fact it's phoney and he's putting it on. There are enough news stories claiming as such:

"actually talks like Sherlock Holmes when he’s behind closed doors in his house"
"They say he used to carry himself as closer to an Oxford-educated lawyer, which he is, than a fountain of folksy rejoinders."
" this “authentic” message is tinsel and the persona fake"
" Kennedy’s co-workers have also accused him of exaggerating his accent and potentially faking his politics"
"His folksy, exaggerated Southern-cornpone accent now is an affectation, mere political theater to stand out among the Senate’s bevy of stuffed shirts. It’s about as authentic as a cow in a camel costume."

I think there is more than enough info to add something to the article that makes it clear that the appearance he presents is fabricated. 80.189.122.156 (talk) 11:58, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
