John R. HicksJohn R. Hicks murders – Per WP:BLP1E policy. Hicks is notable only for the two murders he committed on the night of August 2, 1985. I would simply move the article without discussion, but I thought some discussion might result in the identification of a better candidate title (Murders by John R. Hicks? John R. Hicks killings?). See also the current discussion at Talk:Guy Turcotte#Requested move 7 July 2015. —BarrelProof (talk) 17:03, 4 August 2015 (UTC) Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 06:38, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - WP:BLP1E doesn't apply, BarrelProof; the person is deceased. Shall we use WP:BIO1E instead? George Ho (talk) 04:50, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak oppose - This article needs more references. As I can see, the guy did other crimes besides murders, but they still need verification. As long as article is poor, I don't think the proposed title suits the article well... for now. --George Ho (talk) 06:05, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yes, he committed other crimes, but those crimes are only notable as background information to explain the dual murder. If he was just a drug user and thief that went to sleep that night and got yelled at by his wife the next morning instead of killing two of his family members, there wouldn't be a Wikipedia article about him. —BarrelProof (talk) 12:24, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Notable for 1 event, so article should be about the event and its consequences, not the person. -- 67.70.32.190 (talk) 05:01, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
