Suggest move[edit]

"Narrator" sounds like someone who does voice-over work for films. Would a better name for this article be John Tanner (guide) or John Tanner (translator)? It's been bugging me for years... --Wtshymanski (talk) 23:03, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

:"Guide" would not be a good description. "Translator" may be OK. If not "narrator", I would instead also suggest "trader" or "informant". CJLippert (talk) 23:51, 29 April 2012 (UTC) Edited comments. CJLippert (talk) 15:38, 30 April 2012 (UTC) [reply]
How about John Tanner (captive)? He's not famous for writing a book, he's famous for having been captured at an early age. --Wtshymanski (talk) 13:45, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

John Tanner (narrator)John Tanner (captive) – This person is notable for having been captured at an early age, not for writing a book. A "narrator" is a voice actor, which this man was not. There are several "John Tanner"s listed at the IMDB who might conceivably be doing voice over work some day. Wtshymanski (talk) 20:29, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
