Birth date of John Weatherhead[edit]

I believe John Weatherhead was born in 1775 not in 1777 as the article currently states.

According to the parish register transcriptions held on www.freereg.org.uk, he was baptised at St. Mary the Virgin in Brancaster on 18th July 1775. Son of Thomas Weatherhead and Grace Makemeid. His father, Thomas Weatherhead was educated at St. John's College, Cambridge between 1761-1766 (according to Cambridge University Alumni). His father became a member of the clergy and was vicar of Sedgeford, Norfolk 1793-1808.

There are some additional records held in the National Archives which state that John was aged about 22 when he died.

"Folios 7-14: Lieutenant Weatherhead, aged about 22; disease or hurt, received a wound in the stomach by a raged ball, in great pain with violent vomiting of green and yellow fluids . Put on sick list, 25 July 1797. Died 30 July 1797. "

Interesting. I don't think anyone is entirely sure about Weatherhead's year of birth, Colin White puts it at circa 1777 but these two references indicate it may have been earlier. I have added them to the article as inline citations.--Ykraps (talk) 08:19, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for putting the citations in.
