Radio[edit]

I don't know if this warrants a section for radio portrayals, but on the June 12, 1944 episode of The Lone Ranger was about John Wesley Hardin, including incidents where a young Hardin met up with The Lone Ranger and Tonto where the Lone Ranger shot Hardin's gun out of his hands. I don't know how accurate any of the other information regarding Hardin's life was true, although Hardin was shot and killed by John Selman in an El Paso, Texas saloon. The reason for Selman killing Hardin was that Hardin had approached Selman several years earlier and was embarrassed by the meeting. Hardin went to Selman's father ranch "south of the Big Bend" and shot Selman's father in cold blood, leaving a nickel in Selman's father's hand. The nickel was because during the earlier encounter between Hardin and Selman, Selman gave Hardin a nickel to buy a lollipop. Jtyroler (talk) 20:10, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
