Protection of informal workers development (U) Org (PIWDU)[edit]

Over View: PIWDU is a Non Governmental Organization working towards the protection of the rights of unprotected or informal workers who form the majority of the economically active Ugandans. Labor legislation is usually framed to apply to "Employees" rather than 'Workers'. which assumes a formal employment relationship.

Mission:Improved workers' rights, social protection, employment opportunities and representation.

Products: We do offer legal representation, We address the social issues that are work related like; Terms and Conditions of service, unfair termination and termination without pay, tenancy agreements and evictions without notice, workman's compensation, occupational safety and health, harassment by law enforcement officers, timely payment of salaries and wages, availability of appointment letters and letter of service in case one finishes work, remittance of NSSF and PAYE by the employers etc
