Untitled[edit]

Callas is mentioned in multiple articles on cryptography and security, and has a large web biographic footprint. I am therefore starting a page for him.

He has authored multiple RFCs, been involved with DEC, Network Associates, McAfee, Counterpane, and of course PGP, among other Bay Area companies. He's presented at conferences such as DEFCON, ShmooCon, Financial Cryptography, CodeCon, BlackHat, and others. He has multiple patents. Callas could be considered a cryptographer, but is better characterized as a cryptographic engineer. As noted on the Cypherpunk page, Callas is/was involved with that group. The web is littered with press quotes from him, many predating his time as corporate executive, and they sound for the most part intelligent.
