Animation[edit]

Visiting the article for another purpose I revised it in some ways that do or may touch upon animation, without any knowledge of that except what I read here. Done:

  • Lead: not mention animation
  • Infobox: convert {{infobox person}} to {{infobox writer}}; reflect animation in period=2006-present; not label him animator nor list any works of animation
  • Footer: add the animation portal link among others; add one animator category; not call him animator in {{Persondata}}

Vital data[edit]

Three or four new comments in the page code refer here.

(No change:) The article is in hidden category Year of birth missing (living people) with birthdate empty and birthplace Niagara Falls in hidden template {{Persondata}}.

(No change:) The text and infobox both give birthyear 1981, no date, and birthplace Winnipeg. In text that birth information is tagged {{citation needed}}.

(No change:) The article is in cat People from Niagara Falls, Ontario but that fits regardless of birthplace because we say he "grew up there".

The authority control footer links LCCN and GND, which sometimes provide vital data from a reliable source, provide none for Klassen.

Under these circumstances I made no changes regarding vital data except to insert three or four comments that refer here! Make relevant changes if/when reliable data are in hand. If that is birth year without date, see Category:Date of birth missing (living people).

The freely accessible 75 words at Encyclopedia Britannica Kids [ref name=EBkids] are sufficient for birthyear 1981, birthplace Winnipeg.

Dead links, official sites[edit]

I marked five references {{dead}}. The sites aren't dead and some may need only specific URL, the online equivalent of {{page needed}}.

I marked the official website {dead} after getting a blank display at burstofbeaden.com, or www.burstofbeaden.com. Yet Klassen links this eddress as "My website" at blogspot. And I do find "Coraline" there (http://burstofbeaden.com/coraline.html).

I added the Candlewick Press top page to External links. Another editor recovered 4 of 5 dead refs at Internet Archive. As yesterday I get the official website top page displayed as blank. Mozilla Firefox says 20 bytes and shows as Page Source the single numeral '1'. --P64 (talk) 19:39, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrigible Children illustrated novels[edit]

Maryrose Wood, writer of The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place series says it's a six-book series, book 5 to be released 2015. She doesn't name the book 4 illustrator there, much less comment on the change from Klassen. (I guess he is too expensive after his great picture book success.) She implies at HarperCollins Incorrigible Children they are "novels for young adults". She says a few words about both illustrators there. There is a suggestion Klassen illustrated all four covers.

LC Catalog records for the four Incorrigible novels to date Mys 2010; Hid 2011; Uns 2012; Int 2013.

Kirkus Reviews of the four novels to date [1]; [2]; [3]; [4]. Only the second and fourth reviews mention illustrations, only to note the reviewer(s) did not see them.

The first novel was re-illustrated in its German-language edition. Literature by and about Jon Klassen in the German National Library catalogue

Spelling of Name? Jon, Jo or both?[edit]

The article says his name is Jon Klassen, but the caption under the photo says Jo Klassen. Is this just a typo? 204.107.141.240 (talk) 22:54, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
