Note: 2009 Post-Gazette article is partially outdated regarding replacement construction date[edit]

The cited Post-Gazette news article Plans for new Hulton Bridge put on display, published 16 Feb 2009, states that the replacement construction will begin in 2012. However, PennDOT's project page (publication date unknown) indicates construction will take place 2013-2015. The Trib's article New Hulton Bridge project moves closer to starting, published 26 Feb 2012, also states a completion date in 2015. (As of today I have been unable to access that article directly, however a cached version can be viewed here.) I have updated the Wikipedia article to reflect PennDOT's construction dates, but I didn't remove the 2009 Post-Gazette article reference, as neither the PennDOT page nor the 2012 Trib article name the contract awardee. -Burpen (talk) 14:46, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's clear now that construction began in September 2013. However, the end date is stated as fall 2015 in some sources, while on their website, Brayman Construction Corp. lists the completion date as July 2016. Since it doesn't seem clear which is accurate, I listed the completion date in the article as "late 2015 to mid-2016". -Burpen (talk) 13:39, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I found what appears to be an authoritative source on the estimated completion date (22 October, 2015) as well as the replacement project in general. The linked schedule just has October/November marked for the completion date, but a secondary source lists the specific day. I am editing the article to reflect the firmer completion date. -Burpen (talk) 17:25, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicting info about replacement bridge contract awardee[edit]

In 2013, news articles named Brayman Construction Corp. as the lowest bidder and awardee of the replacement bridge, with a cost of $65 million. However, earlier news articles named Gannett Fleming as the contractor, with a cost of $75 million. It's unclear whether Gannett Fleming was underbid by Brayman Construction and lost the contract, or whether Gannett Fleming won the design contract and Brayman Construction won a separate contract to build the bridge. If anyone knows more about this, please clarify. -Burpen (talk) 13:53, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I just found the replacement project website, which clearly states the roles of the companies involved. I edited the article to reflect this. -Burpen (talk) 17:27, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting article; bridge name[edit]

Since the 1908 bridge is going to be demolished sometime in the next few months, it seems logical for the replacement bridge to either move to its own article or take the lead position of this article. The articles on the original Highland Park Bridge and its replacement are an example of how the former arrangement could be handled.

Also, the spelling of Hulton's first name seems to be different across various sources. I've seen it spelled both "Jonathon" and "Jonathan". It appears that (at least some) official signage and several news articles spell it with an "A", and yet various other news articles (not to mention this article) spell it with an "O". Perhaps an authoritative source is needed on this.
