Ada Walton[edit]

There is no mention of Joseph Sayers first wife, Ada, who was the sister of Lena. Ada was a young bride who only lived two years after her marriage to the J. Sayers. It is alleged that because it was customary to do so at the time he married her sister Lena who went on to distinguish herself amongst other state First Ladies. The cause of Ada’s death is unknown. The governor built her a house in Bastrop when they first became married. It is also alleged that he bought her a diamond ring of considerable size and that she was apt to carve her name with the diamond in the windows throughout the house which can still be seen to this day. 2600:100C:B047:FB72:43F:A5FF:4C4E:9B8E (talk) 18:26, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
