About the Park[edit]

Removing the following: "Knowland Park is the crown jewel of Oakland's parks, an oasis of natural wildland habitat that survived as the city grew around it. It is the City’s largest but least-known park, in part because the City of Oakland has seemingly worked to keep it a secret. In fact, the park was not even listed on Oakland's park website http://www.oaklandnet.com/parks/parks/parkslisting.asp?pgSet=all until May 2012, and the current listing simply provides the address for the Oakland Zoo with no further information provided."

While it's true that the oaklandnet, com page lists no further information than the address for the Oakland Zoo, it should be noted that the same page lists a similar lack of information for all but 4 of the 127 parks listed. Further, there's no cite for Knowland Park being called the crown jewel of Oakland's parks (arguably, Joaquin Miller holds that prize). Charges of secrecy smack of conspiracy theory.

Controversy[edit]

Added the controversy section. Note that the Friends of Knowland Park also strongly oppose Measure A1 (2012 ballot), but I'm not sure featuring a link to SaveKnowland.org or noonmeasurea1.com is appropriate to an article about a park. However, just to make sure all sides are heard, I've added/titled that link as an external link.
