I ask that you please reach out to the University of Tennessee for an updated photo of coach heupel in his current employer uniform. I exchanged information with UT athletics executive Bill Martin who would like to update this asap. billmartin@tennessee.edu 2600:387:C:6E13:0:0:0:7 (talk) 01:31, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: Please provide an image with an acceptable license. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 01:59, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a free photo as of provided by the university of Tennessee.

Where is the evidence that Tennessee Athletics has put the image under a free license? From the site's terms of service: "The contents of the Services, including our Web Sites, are intended for your personal, noncommercial use. All materials published on the Services (including, but not limited to articles, photographs, images, illustrations, audio clips and video clips, also known as the 'Content') are protected by copyright, and owned or controlled by SIDEARM Sports or the party credited as the provider of the Content." —C.Fred (talk) 17:40, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is is fair to assume this image that was posted on twitter to the public is free of use. If not, I surely am not sure what to say at this point. 20 different people have tried to get this profile up to do date and Wikipedia fails to do so. Sad simply sad. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:C0:8000:31E0:14A6:7614:D02F:A929 (talk) 19:23, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No, it is not fair to assume that a picture posted on Twitter is free to be sold by other parties. Images of living people are a messy area on Wikipedia because of copyright rules and the English Wikipedia's requirement to use free images in practically all situations. —C.Fred (talk) 21:17, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I mean can you atleast exchange for a better picture. The man is looking at the ground at an awful angle.

Also ineligible, same reason. Are you looking at the images' license terms before sharing links? —C.Fred (talk) 13:41, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Trying to get creative. I got this from Heupels gallary on your Wikipedia files for him. How about the image below cropped so that there is no logo at all!

https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Josh_Heupel#/media/File%3AJosh_Heupel_(46138496791).jpg — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.98.132.46 (talk) 14:36, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

IMO, even if we show an old logo, it's worth seeing his shoulders, because it tells us something about body type. For that reason, I'm against a crop. —C.Fred (talk) 14:58, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

At this point Fred, you have made in nearly impossible to make any sort of update to this awful OLD picture so reading through this with other user didn’t really expect you to be on board. Guest user, this guy is ridiculous just give it up and let UT jump in. I find it unbelievable that they have not even attempted to reach out and receive a new picture. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.205.218.112 (talk) 15:06, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I mean, I get it to a certain extent with licensing and such. That said, thought he would at-least use the last image I sent. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.205.218.112 (talk) 15:27, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Since you IP-hop, I'm not sure which the "last image I sent" was. See above about going to XCU on the current image. —C.Fred (talk) 17:00, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Image query: crop the logo from current image?[edit]

One of the IPs has requested to crop the logo out of the current image so that it no longer shows the logo of a former school. I'm looking for broader input from regular editors of this page: is it worth sacrificing some context (like the build of his shoulders) to crop out the logo? —C.Fred (talk) 17:03, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It’s not the ideal scenario as it is misleading information due to the fact he does not coach at that school any longer. However, the image above can be cropped to show no logo. Until you get an image that is up to date. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.205.218.112 (talk) 17:24, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request image[edit]

Hello, I have uploaded an image to the commons. I would like to be placed as the image for Josh Heupel. This was a photo taken off an iphone free of license and for public use.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Josh_Heupel.jpg

Thanks. 24.98.132.46 (talk) 19:14, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Where did you take the image? —C.Fred (talk) 22:54, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Was taken in a Mexican restaurant in Georgia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:c0:8000:31e0:306e:c0b1:e46a:b035 (talk) 23:33, 20 Dec 2021 (UTC)

Change current image with previous employer to image below uploaded free of license personal iPhone image. Taken at a public restaurant in Georgia, cropped for privacy of family.

I'm waiting to see if there are any comments from experienced users before making the change. —C.Fred (talk) 20:56, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see any issues. Neither image is particularly high quality, so it's not like we're losing a better image to avoid showing them at an old employer. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 12:11, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect, is there a way I can make the change? Seems as if the page is still locked? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.98.132.46 (talk) 15:36, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done I don't see a reason for this change. There is definitely a difference in quality of image. The suggested image with the Tennessee 'T' is only 15kb. It looks distorted and with bad color-balance. It may be newer, but I don't see this justifying the reduction in quality. Cheers, --SVTCobra 03:14, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

I ask that you please add the image back that was just removed. The removal was an error, as this was a personal photo taken and own ALL the rights to.

Can someone please update Josh Heupels photo to something with his current employer. It’s outdated and a bit odd it hasn’t been updated. 2601:CB:427F:D750:B0A0:80D7:CD1F:D678 (talk) 02:28, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that there isn't a copyright-free image available of him with the University of Tennessee that can be used on Wikipedia. Unlike many websites, we can't use copyrighted images. BilCat (talk) 02:52, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

2022 Orange Bowl W[edit]

Somebody edited the coaching record to show a win for the Orange Bowl before the game was over.

Given that Tennessee appears headed for a 31-14 win with 1 minute left, I'm not going to revert. But this just seems like bad form. Let the game finish before calling it y'all. Texasyojimbo (talk) 04:53, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If they lose, we'll change it. BilCat (talk) 05:21, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Masked picture on bio?[edit]

What is the point of having his picture if you cannot see his face? 97.81.149.229 (talk) 21:02, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think that is the point! BilCat (talk) 21:11, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But seriously, I've reverted it at least twice myself, but it keeps coming back. Evidently, having the right color "T" on his shirt (UT instead of Tenn Tech) is more important to diehard Vols fans than seeing his face. BilCat (talk) 21:42, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
