I wasn't being rude, nor were my intentions to make you feel bad. All I was merely pointing out is that Wikipedia doesn't have a deadline to get things done immediately. You will come across moments when a participation map hasn't been updated for hours or even days. Not all editors have the required skills or tools to update the map upon adding content regarding a country's participation. And you wouldn't be the first person to post a comment to tell people to update the map because it hasn't been done. If people has a bit of patients and waited for the map to update in its due course, rather than assume we are lazy and can't be bothered, would be a bit more appreciative. Thought that was pretty clear in my comment, to be fair. But nevertheless, as I have the skills and tools for map updating, I did the update shortly after I replied to your comment. If people like you stopped blaming others for assuming things they never assumed as you did, it would be much better! If I had said: "can someone hurry up and make Cyprus purple already!" I would agree that I wasn't being patient. But I only asked if it was possible, I didn't ask for it to be done in a millisecond! I didn't say that there was a deadline. I am aware Cyprus is now purple. Please remain civil at all times and remember to assume good faith in what people say and do. There is nothing in my comments that point to me saying "it must be done in a millisecond". And I am aware you never pointed out about a deadline. That was me pointing out some Wikipedia tips that not everyone maybe aware of. All I said was this isn't the first time that someone has asked for a map to be updated within minutes of the article being updated. Also, this talk page isn't really the correct venue to make requests for map updates, as the map is stored at Wikimedia Commons, seeing as the map is used across multiple language Wikipediae. Non-sourced countries

Do not add countries who is either debuting, withdrawing or returning without any source confirmed. Do someone know what happens if someone add any unsourced countries?

Think you can already rule out norway

last year norway actually held a national final but not this year. the norwegian final is usually on the list of shows held in oslo spektrum long before but this year oslo spektrum does not show it. that means that no mgp junior will be held in oslo spektrum where it is always held.(at least since 2005 but wikipedia have no knowledge on the years before.) nrk is really losing interest as last year they aired it much later. 84.212.73.96 (talk) 01:01, 12 March 2016 (UTC)

Romanian exclusion

UK not returning.

Indeed, if a country has more than one broadcaster that has EBU membership, we cannot just change the colour on the map until all broadcasters have said "no to participation". So despite ITV saying no, we still need confirmation from BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, and the Welsh broadcaster, S4C. Wes Mouse ✒ 14:06, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

Georgia

The Eurovoix article which previously existed stating that Georgia has confirmed participation has been deleted, furthermore their Twitter account tweeted that they have not confirmed participation (https://twitter.com/Eurovoix/status/736855440651374592). The way to view the article on Eurovoix is a bit weird, as clicking on the headline hyperlink takes you to a deleted (404) page. Yet when you click on "read more" it opens the article. It is probably just a technical glitch, so I wouldn't panic too much. Wes Mouse ✒ 12:17, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
The url for the link that doesn't work uses the date format as 2016/25/05, which probably explains why it has broken, as the new link has the date format in the url as 2016/05/25. Wes Mouse ✒ 12:21, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
@Jjj1238: Eurovoix have now removed the article, so it must be true that their original publication was in error. I'd say remove from the provisional list entirely. Even other JESC news sites only show 8 confirmed to date, with Georgia not on their lists. Wes Mouse ✒ 13:43, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

@EuroFan98: Please refrain from making forceful threats towards the community, in the way you have done above. Remember to always assume good faith in others, and to remain civil at all times, and avoid written attacks. Most people are well aware of the standard of practice in regards to citations and identifying reliable sources. And when in doubt, you may refer editors to Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Sources, which provides a list of useful sources that WikiProject Eurovision accepts as being reliable. Some blogs can be used as a source, for example WiWiBloggs, albeit has blog in the title, but isn't a blog in nature. Why do someone keep adding United Kingdom??

  • That'll be vandalism edits which is a common thing on Eurovision and Junior Eurovision articles, I'm afraid. Something which we have been working hard to prevent, but will never cure. Thankfully such vandalism does get reverted swiftly, although there will be some which slip through the net. If you do spot any, then you could always report the user(s) at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Wes Mouse ✒ 16:59, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Good faith?

Why do people keep adding Greece as returning without any source which states that they said yes? Someone should add Greece back to the "Other countries" section, as their ERT said no in the first place. EuroFan98 (talk) 19:03, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

@EuroFan98: may I ask a question? You do know how to edit articles, yes? You must do, as you are fully capable of editing talk pages and telling, actually no not telling, more like demanding others should be doing the work. Rather than wasting your own time posting in here that something needs to be done, why don't you get off your lazy ass per WP:BOLD and just do the edit and leave a politely written edit summary, not the nasty and vile ones I have seen you write in the past. You don't see me posting that "a new country hasn't got an article yet". I just get to it and write the new article. Sorry to rant like that, but it has been getting annoying for a while now. Work!
