Choice of the Wikipedia Entry Name[edit]

This series of battles has been given different names by different authors. For example, George Sansom termed it the Battle of Kotesashi-Sekido which denotes the most intense and central part of the campaign; however, this naming omits the events before Kotesashi and after Sekido. Edmond Papinot listed separate entries for each battle. Other authors have included it as part of the larger Genko War. The historical sign posts in Japanese at each give each battle separately. The Taiheiki terms it as the "Revolt of Nitta Yoshisada."

I have chosen to use names of the specific provinces that the campaign was conducted in given that the participants and outcome were distinct from the other parts of the Genko War.
