Proposed merge of KFRC (defunct) into KEAR (AM)[edit]

The bulk of KFRC's article is about the station on 610 AM, which is the same license as the current KEAR; we try to keep stations' histories within one article. (This will also take care of one of the few remaining articles with the deprecated "(defunct)" disambiguator.) WCQuidditch 20:35, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

disagree: KFRC broadcast on 610 AM, and is not the same company or licensee. Stations and frequencies are not the same. Movie Studios and production lots are not the same. Companies come and go. Real estate and radio frequencies remain. Frequencies in geographic locations and the history of licencees is a useful taxonomy but current licencee KEAR should not be the main article.——24.7.56.99 (talk) 08:02, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. KFRC was not just a radio station on 610 AM. It was a legend that set the standard for broadcasting for generations and had nothing to do with KEAR which just happens to occupy the 610 frequency. Would you put Donald Trump and Barrack Obama in the same post just because they both occupied the WH? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.41.99.31 (talk) 18:32, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Support - we usualy don't start a new article when ownership, format, and call letters change. There should be no exception here. schetm (talk) 16:47, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Closing, given that there is no consensus and the discussion is stale for several months. Klbrain (talk) 11:32, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
