In the past ,KTTS used a vary eerie sound clip during live coverage of severe weather ; if you have heard it, you will never forget it.[edit]

This is the only link I can find on the internet ,and I feel it should be linked here. Because if you heard this sound come over your radio you had better be taking shelter. KTTS-FM no longer broadcasts this tone ,Instead they use the National Weather Service , and the Emergency Broadcast Systems' tones in it's place. I do not know when the change was made or when it was first aired. Perhaps, an authorly on the matter will help further the story about this unforgettable ,iconic tone formally used by KTTS in stay of the NWS/EBS tones we all know today.
