Kabajima (currently a redirect to Kabashima) →Kabashima – name is incorrect per all other sources (see Japanese-language Wiki, Google Maps, etc.) but issue with disambiguation page is above my pay grade Kazamzam (talk) 18:43, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I've had a look at you request. I agree that the sources support sh more than j for the English name of the island. But I don't really feel comfortable moving the article to Kabashima, which is a disambiguation page, because from my searches it doesn't look like the island is the primary topic, so it doesn't look appropriate to displace the disambiguation page. Other opinions welcome. Dr. Vogel (talk) 23:32, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I feel this could be taken care of with placing a hatnote on the article that is moved to primary location. Dab page is irrelevant here because the second entry is a redirect to List of minor planets: 4001–5000. Best ─ The Aafī(talk) 09:14, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Kazamzam: I performed the request, but upon research I'm reverting it and moving it to Kabashima, Nagasaki. There are two Kabashima islands of similar size, one off the Nagasaki coast and the other in Goto Islands archipelago, see c:Category:Kabashima. It seems that even the article mixes the two somewhat. Comment This island, and the other island in the Gotoh Islands (ja:椛島) are both in Nagasaki Prefecture, so "Kabashima, Nagasaki" is ambiguous... Also, this article doesn't match the data in the Japanese article ja:樺島 including what Kanji the island is called (which in our article matches the Gotou Islands article; but the data does not match that article either) -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 13:27, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, this one is technically in the city of Nagasaki, and I doubt one would expect the Goto Islands one under "Nagasaki" disambiguator (and I downright hate "Nagasaki, Nagasaki" as used in Commons). Besides, the article about the Goto one does not exist yet. As for the kanji, it's not of my own making. On OpenStreetMap, the island is named ja:樺島, so I'll correct the kanji here.
