A smarter Wikipedia user than I may want to add this into the article.

The original location of Kanarraville was explored and selected during June 23-24, 1860 by Samuel Pollock, John Willis, William Riggs and Willis Young of Toquerville and Granton Utah. In the spring of 1863 a number of settlers from Toquerville moved to settle Kanarravile. Among them were Josiah Reeves, Samuel Pollock, Willis Young, John Willis and their familes. About 1864-1865, the Kanarra flooded out the community. The current location of Kanarraville, re-established after the flood, is about a mile from the original location.
