One of them[edit]

One of them (I can't tell which one) appeared in "The Springfield Files", along with other famous aliens (Alf, Chewbacca, & Marvin the Martian). (anon)

  • When only one appears, it's always Kang. Digifiend 11:08, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dead Kang then, is apparently seen briefly in Season 3 Episode 13, Radio Bart. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.124.116.101 (talk) 02:31, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Quality[edit]

  • Quote: the aliens say they will kill all of Earth's politicians for not getting their daughter, although the Treehouse of Horror episodes aren't canon and are just simple short stories for the sake of Halloween. What was meant to be said by this? Cema 06:04, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Quote: Kang asks if they will be needed and Kodos mentions have ballet tickets. What was meant to be said here? Cema 06:04, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • This article is incredibly redundant. LeSaint 01:42, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Twilight Zone references[edit]

Kang and Kodos and their spaceship seem to be a pretty clear homage to the Twilight Zone Episode "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street."

Also there is a Halloween episode which spoofs the Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man," with Kang and Kodos as the human-eating aliens.

Rigel 7[edit]

Major Cleanup[edit]

I cleaned this article up big-time. We still need to add a brief snippet about their role in a few of the Halloween episodes...... --takethemud 06:12, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Censorship[edit]

Shouldn't there be something about Kang and Kodos lines being cut out by Fox censorship? I heard that after they are justifying invasion on Earth with prevention of development of weapons of mass destructions they say that it's just like Iraq. But parts of this dialog (about Iraq?) were cut out. Do someone have some credible information about this?

The line wasn't cut because of censorship, it was cut because the writers decided that they didn't like it. And, the line was something along the lines of "This is exactly what Iraq will be like" and it was in the episode Treehouse of Horror XVII. -- Scorpion0422 03:14, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Credits in the movie[edit]

The fact that Kang was credited in the movie could be explained by the fact that he speaks in the commercials and was being credited for that. Ketchuphed 04:12, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review[edit]

Comments are left here. miranda 02:38, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copyediting through this article, there are some mistakes. "Other Rigellians that have appeared include Serak the Preparer, who was voiced by James Earl Jones and only appeared in "Treehouse of Horror".[2]" However, below says that he appeared in THOHV. miranda 16:55, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Jones was in Treehouse of Horror V, but not as Serak. I've fixed the error. -- Scorpion0422 17:17, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cannibalism?[edit]

"Lisa becomes suspicious of their intentions and accuses Kang and Kodos of cannibalism." - I'm pretty sure that Rigellians and humans are not the same species, so cannibalism is somewhat incorrect.--Jackyd101 (talk) 09:51, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Changed to Lisa becomes suspicious of their intentions and accuses Kang and Kodos of eating the Simpson family. miranda 10:04, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rigellian physiology[edit]

I've always wondered about this: at one point (ToH XII) Kodos says: "I always secret ocular fluid at weddings", but in Gump Roast Kang says "These are not tears. We are vomiting from our eyes". What is it? Did they actually cry? Do they vomit at weddings? Or did the writers simply forget themselves? Lampman Talk to me! 03:24, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

mabye the both cry and vomit from there eyes ♥Fighting for charming Love♥ (talk) 20:03, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Better Picture[edit]

It could use a better picture. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.254.89.216 (talk) 11:36, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rigel IV or VII?[edit]

Article contradicts itself on home planet. Ribbet32 (talk) 00:11, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's VII. IV was where they were going (or at least where they're taking the Simpsons) in their original appearance. THOH XXV starts off by claiming that VII conquered the other planets in its system, which might imply that IV is so nice because they reshaped it into their species' entertainment world after the conquest. Pampas Cat! 03:55, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Names[edit]

I'm a little surprised they got away with using the names, since "Kodos the Executioner" is a major character in the Star Trek episode "The Conscience of the King" and Kang is the name of the principal Klingon antagonist in "Day of the Dove." Anyone know anything about this?

*Septegram*Talk*Contributions* 23:04, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No more than you do. Kodos the Executioner was an elected official. Then he executed millions to keep millions of others from starving, or something like that. "Voting for Kodos" (T-shirt: Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos) seems to me to be clearly about that originally, and the Simpsons made it into a humorous idea.... 173.174.85.204 (talk) 12:15, 11 November 2015 (UTC)Eric[reply]

Concept[edit]

It's not just the name, does anyone notice that the two one-eyed aliens driving a spaces ship at the 41st mins of Monty Python's "The Life of Brian" resemble a lot to Kang and Kogos ? I can't prove it so far but it seems pretty obvious. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.154.143.66 (talk) 14:08, 4 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
