Hunter's views on atheism don't merit the huge amounts of attention that this article has been exposing lately.
Agree. The atheism blurb is out of place and journalistic, not encyclopedic. 72.183.101.183 16:14, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- Karen Hunter fans may find her comments a bit embarassing, but that doesn't make them irrelevant. Look at many other articles with "Controversy" sections. --FreedomFromReligion 23:11, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

- I disagree, if anything a lot of people wouldn't of even heard of her if it wasn't for her "Shut up" speech on CNN. Maybe reword to make more NPOV, but its pretty close as it is. --Archeus 13:45, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Arguements about the nature of the "controversy" don't warrant it being cut out entirely... especially when easily linked to a CNN transcript to verify it —Preceding unsigned comment added by Randomnameguy1 (talk • contribs) 04:45, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Hunter started a digital publishing company in 2011, called First One Publishing, that got various print and TV publicity because of her industry stature and because she made very grandiose promises to revolutionize the publishing industry. First One launched with a controversial writing contest which was widely derided by the major writers' watchdog organizations, and after a contentious and sweeping hullabaloo, the contest ultimately disappeared from the web, followed shortly thereafter by the entirety of First One Publishing. I searched this entry's history for any mention of First One or its contest and can find none, which, given the (big, negative) splash it made, seems odd. Theories why?
Reconsidering the 2011 civil rights lawsuit brought against Simon & Schuster et al (in which Karen was named personally) that was added to this entry in the past and subsequently removed for not being "notable", it may become relevant if considered as but one in a list of controversies Hunter has been embroiled in. —Transitive Sam (talk) 21:00, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
Did she found Urban View?[edit]
I heard a programme on Urban View [digital radio station] yesterday when she was being credited with getting the station started. If so, her role should be mentioned in the article. DavidFarmbrough (talk) 14:47, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
