Spelling[edit]
I thought the name was Caitlin Ni Houlihan, not Kathleen Ni Houlihan. Usually it is spelled Cathleen anyway.
Maybe the page name should be changed.

Kathleen Ni Houlihan is more consistent than Caitlin Ni Houlihan, as the former is a fully Anglicized form of the name, while the latter is half-Irish Gaelic and half-English. That said, the main variations of the name are all given in the first paragraph and I do not see the current spelling as a problem. Arrogant Papist 20:40, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Origin of the name[edit]
I was hoping the article could enlighten me as to the origin of the name. James Clarence Mangan wrote a poen entitled Kathaleen Ny-Houlahan but I gather the name goes back further than that. "Kathleen" is, of course, a popular Irish name, but what, if any, was the significance of her father's name, "Houlihan", can anybody say? 86.44.199.115 (talk) 19:39, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
