Series[edit]

Kekkaishi (結界師) is a manga series by Yellow Tanabe. It is published in Japan by Shogakukan and in North America in English by VIZ Media. An anime series has been recently announced through Sunrise and made its debut in October, 2006.

This phrasing seems ackward. It seems like it would be better to say something along the lines of "Kekkaishi (結界師) is a manga series by Yellow Tanabe with an anime TV series adaptation by Sunrise". It is both a manga and an anime. Why say the anime was "recently announced" when it has already begun airing? --Nitwit005 01:55, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Volume Count in Japan Question[edit]

Ok just a quick question from a newb: Where are you getting the information that Kekkaishi is 15 volumes long in Japan? Last I checked there were only 12. --68.210.43.168 20:29, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hey do u guys think maybe we should add episode summary's for each of the episodes , because this is a long series, or it seems so right now, and many people like to know about what happens in ep or what will, so if someone watching this knows have to add the summary box under the episode titles and stuff, can u start it, i can help out with summary's when finished with box. If you wish to place another episode just copy a previous episode, paste it under the last episode and be sure to change the information. You can check several other tabel formats at the various episode lists of other anime's. For example: List_of_Shijō_Saikyō_no_Deshi_Kenichi_episodes, List_of_Bleach_episodes and although not an anime (if you handle the Japanese standards) List_of_Avatar:_The_Last_Airbender_episodes. Character section[edit]

Lots and lots of white space - could someone convert it to the format used on other pages, with the images on alternate sides of the page? Might be getting time to split the character section off into a page of it's own as well. Doceirias 21:56, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is a good idea.

I feel like he should be in a main characters section with Yoshimori, Masamori, and Tokine, personally. It seems strange to bury them all in their families, as if the other family members as as important. The rest of their families could be split off onto the character page. English Name Question[edit]

I could be translated as either, but Master is closer to the literal meaning. There is another word (-tsukai) that literally means user, so Barrier Master would be the more common translation. Doceirias 20:45, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Hakubi ke.png is being used on this article. Characters section[edit]

It's pretty big now. I would suggest creating a characters page for all the entries, but keeping the three primary characters on the front page. Since Yoshimori, Madarao, Tokine, Hakubi and Gen is already on the main page, I suggest removing them and put a link to the main page instead.

Well, it's a page based purely on characters, so it would be best to include them. Ideally, you wouldn't have any primary characters on the main page at all, and would link straight to the character list. References for publishers[edit]

Regarding the publishers I haven't yet referenced:

  • I cannot identify a website for the listed Malay publisher, PCM Comics. However, given the malay.wiki article lists it as the licensor, I see no reason to doubt the accuracy of the statement. So consider it as likely true but unverified for now.
  • At the moment, the Editorial Ivrea website seems to be down; I'll try again later if someone else doesn't get to it.
  • The Random House Korea website has massive holes in its catalog, especially when it comes to comics -- it is very easy to find Bookbox editions that exist on multiple seller websites that aren't listed on the publisher site. And that includes all 18 volumes of 결계사. Very irritating. For now, I used the Google Books listing for the first volume, which per guidelines is better than a commercial site, until we can get a good reference.
  • There's also a Thai edition (see the thai.wiki article), but the publisher website is blocked by my corporate overlord's firewall; I'll try again from a free terminal this weekend if someone else doesn't get to it.

The TBDs[edit]

Pulling out the comments from the recent assessment above:

  • Missing some development/production info. At the very least there should be release information. Also Famitsu scores for the video game. The anime and game are missing plot (differences) as well. Also the terms list as such are trivial info. If a term is central to the understanding of the work as a whole, it should be combined in prose. Lead is also too short.
  • The subsection for moves is inappropriate. Also it's missing any info on development/creation/release
  • Too many short paragraphs

Comparison Anime and Manga[edit]

It would be great to have some information about how the Anime compares to the Manga, e.g. which chapters does the anime cover, is the end of the anime accurate or did they create an end cause the manga has not ended yet, etc. SilentGuy (talk) 00:34, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it happens they animated the first 13 volumes fairly closely, ending with a climax almost exactly as it is in the manga.
