Notability[edit]

Looking at the political notability guidelines, I do wish to note a few things, including that Seiling has received some coverage in a national paper of record on multiple occasions. Secondarily, he served 30 years as a head of regional government in a region of approximately 600,000. Wikipedia:Notability (politics) seems to indicate leaders of cities of regional importance are considered notable, but I don't know if Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge/Waterloo Region qualifies, its relatively well known within the country. Regardless of the second point, the primary point of at least some repeated coverage in The Globe and Mail (alongside local coverage) is probably notable. Not all Globe and Mail articles have been cited in this article at this time. Kwkintegrator (talk) 10:31, 24 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For context, via Google I found something like 4 or 5 topics in The Globe and Mail ( a paper of record) in which Ceiling was cited, and perhaps two in which he was secondary and was not simply providing commentary on behalf of the Region's government. A more systemic search using Factiva yielded about 9 topics, of which 4 are significant and secondary. My ability to write about water policy is somewhat limited given the complexity of a multi-month story, so that hasn't been included. This doesn't include some coverage (on the same topics) by the Canadian Press or Canada NewsWire (wire services), or similar stories in the Toronto Star (a major national newspaper).Kwkintegrator (talk) 10:43, 24 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
