Recent addition[edit]

A recent addition was added by an editor who says to be one of the two river guides who participated in the record setting run through the grand canyon. Based on what I read in Emerald Mile, Grua joined Grand Canyon Dories long before 1983, rather in the early to mid-1970s. He gained years of experience running the canyon in wooden dories, before doing the 1983 speed run. The Emerald Mile had wrecked a few years before 1983 and Grua appropriated it from GCD as a side project since he was working there. That's what the book says. Also his walk through the canyon was at-near river level but I'm pretty sure he was the first to walk through the canyon in a single walk at any level - Fletcher did it closer to rim-level but he didn't walk the whole canyon length from Lee's Ferry to Grand Wash Cliff. -- GreenC 14:30, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Personal journals[edit]

Re: Special:Diff/1147747379/1170947514 .. it's impossible to verify per WP:V given the lack of information on how to access the journals. They would need to be in a library or online or something. -- GreenC 04:37, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
