His education[edit]

The statement 'He has no college or university degrees' is undeserved. Why does it matter his tertiary level of education ? I think it should be stated how far he got into the 'schooling' system and no more. 80.255.47.202 08:03, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RESPONSE[edit]

maybe this matter is legitimised in the context of an educational industrial complex running like a junkie whoes cash fix is dependant on an elete corporate funded plantation ethic that could taint humanities perceptions overarchingly, and pre-program

forms and functions (borg), locking in a whole cultures systemic misperceptions? EH?

Metafilter question about Wikipedia[edit]

I've removed this link from the list of links in accordance with WP:ASR.

FWIW my own feeling on this is that if an article on you already exists then making non-contentious edits is fine, but you should always give way and retreat to the talk page in the event of an edit war - let others take up the cudgels for you. — ciphergoth 07:41, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Hot, knotty & contentious digital-realm issues[edit]

Anybody in touch with Kelly's perspective on the Internet's downside (or, rather, its inflammatory or dark facets)? or the hazards of AI? Etc.Joel Russ (talk) 21:26, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure the people who've contributed to the article (as well as Kevin Kelly himself) are intelligent and aware. But I thought I'd mention some of the commonly cited Online-Age downside issues: viruses/malware, spam and unwanted advertising; bullying, trolls, stalkers, doxing, and fraudsters; identity theft and hacking; and (for some people) an exacerbation of social isolation. Kelly can't be so pollyannish as to have ignored all this stuff, can he?Joel Russ (talk) 20:37, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
