CE run and flags for issues[edit]

This is a BLP. There are some issues with the article that need to be addressed.

  1. Many of the sources cited for claims are written by the subject, and I challenge the use of subject written material when used as the sole support of claims in an article.
  2. There are numerous claims which are cited to links that do not support the claim. Sometimes this is because the link is to a general site such as a school. Sometimes the claim is taken out of context from the source. Sometimes, the claim just doesn't appear in the source.
  3. There are various external links throughout the article to sites such as Blogspot. I challenge the use of such external links and don't think they are justified in being there.

Issues #2 and #3 are intertwined in that often, the source provided is given via external link, instead of a full citation. I have fixed some of these issues, where I could verify that source as reliable and the claim as present. Where I couldn't do that, I left the external link in place instead of fixing it. It's been almost three years since the BLP notability tag was added, in addition to the host of the issues cited here. Unless there are any objections, I suggest we move ahead with nominating the article for deletion. Marshal Bagramyan (talk) 16:49, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The subject just published a book, which is likely to get reviews in the near future, and there is plenty of news coverage of his work[1] (t · c) buidhe 00:38, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Publication of a book, while significant, is still insufficient to meet the standards of notability. Most of the publications cited in the link still seem fairly regional and parochial. One can, of course, return to this article if the subject later attains a more national or global profile, but right now this unaffiliated junior scholar is not there (certainly not at the level of a Benedict Anderson or Tom Holland). Right now, much of this entry reads like an act of self-promotion. Marshal Bagramyan (talk) 14:08, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request Deletion/Unlink from Armenian Weekly[edit]

Although I do understand that Mourdian is the former editor of the Armenian Weekly, his profile page should not redirect to the paper. Either unlink, or delete the profile page.
