Accused Name[edit]

While pretty much all sources name the accused, I left it out for the time being pending a discussion whether to include it per BLP guidelines. As she has been charged and it is widely reported, I feel it can be included, but for now I just referred to her as the accused in initial creation of article. I'll allow more experienced editors to weigh in, but I think it's fair game for inclusion. In comparison to something like the Murders of Abigail Williams and Liberty German, the identity of the killer is not in dispute. Additionally, we list the shooter names on the articles for Killing of Kaylin Gillis, Shooting of Ralph Yarl and Shooting of Payton Washington (all of which are similar to this case in that they are shooting incidents where the suspect has been charged, but not yet convicted, of anything). Policy discussion at BLP mentioning this article[edit]

There is an ongoing policy discussion at WP:BLP entitled Naming accused perpetrators of crimes debating the question of whether articles about high-profile criminal cases should name any known suspect(s) prior to conviction, especially when they are only known for their involvement with the event in question. This article is featured as one example of twenty fitting these criteria which named the suspect(s) after being published by reliable sources. I will be copying this message to the other articles so that interested editors have an opportunity participate in the debate. Xan747 (talk) 17:32, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
