Kirinyaga DistrictKirinyaga County — Districts and provinces no longer exist as administrative units in Kenya as per the new constitution. The second level administrative unit in Kenya is the county. Edwinkiama (talk) 16:56, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've just reverted the move. It was requested by a Wikipedia novice and gathered no further support. Moreover, the request was based on misinformation, since counties are not yet operational and districts have not been disbanded [1]. The future of districts and provinces in Kenya is still unclear. Counties differ essentially from districts in their administrative status, although geographically counties are based on historical districts. Large number of new districts have been created within last three years, and thus the number of districts is now much higher than counties. Based on these differences, I would say that articles on Kenyan districts should be kept even if districts are eventually abolished. Instead entirely new articles on Kenyan counties should be created, once the issue is more timely. Julius Sahara (talk) 14:11, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
