Kisa and "cat"[edit]

It says near the top of the article that Kisa is Russian for cat, however in no dictionaries I've looked in does it say this. The Russian words for cat are either "kot" or "koshka" but I've never seen Kisa used. Unless someone can find otherwise, I'm going to remove this bit from the article. --Katsuhagi 22:12, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

From what I can find, you're right. Besides, "Kisa" is a Japanese name (杞紗). I don't think there's anything Russian about it. :S Dunno where that information came from, but thanks for removing it. --Fnar 15:11, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, "Kisa" is a Russian for a cat. Only the word has more tender meaning like little kitty. I was rather surprised when I read manga and as a Russian think that the name suits perfectly even if it is not intended to. --passlost 16:15, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kate Bristol[edit]

Someone should really add the information on Kisa's voice, Kate Bristol. I've searched and searched, but i haven't found her on the internet yet. I Need Help! Thanks. Kyo cat 01:51, 2 October 2006 (UTC) Kyo cat[reply]

Background[edit]

I just added this sentence in background: "Kisa has an interest in an anime called Mogeta, a rather odd anime that Tohru and Kisa watch together." I hope it's good enough and has to do with the section, at least, I think it does. ¡Adios! Kyo cat 23:58, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:FB kisa1.jpg[edit]

Image:FB kisa1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:11, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cat Project[edit]

Yes Kisa is a cat, but the wiki cat project! Yuki isn't apart of the wiki rat project (does wiki have a rat project), Kyo the CAT isn't apart of the wiki cat project, and Shigure isn't apart of the wiki dog project. So here is my quetion why is Kisa apart of the wiki cat project???Smileyface 12 91 06:30, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because some random member of the Cat Project decided that it should be so. If you don't think this article belongs there, you'll have to take it up with one of them. Raven23 19:59, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Origin of Satchan?[edit]

Does anyone know where Satchan is coming from? Is this another alternate-reading-of-a-kanji thing, like Rin from the suzu part of Isuzu? —Quasirandom (talk) 04:29, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, wait, figured it out: sa being the last syllable of her name. Duh. Why it's Sat-chan instead of Sā-chan, someone with a better grasp of Japanese morphology will have to explain. —Quasirandom (talk) 16:20, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal[edit]

I am proposing that this article be merged into List of Fruits Basket characters. If you have an opinion, please come over here. —Quasirandom (talk) 02:44, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
