Steward Observatory[edit]

The page lists the Steward Observatory as a telescope on Kitt Peak. This is not correct. The Steward Observatory is a organizational unit at the University of Arizona which operates telescopes in various locations, including the 12-m telescope on Kitt Peak. Unfortunately, the Steward Obs page is a stub, and there doesn't seem to be a 12-m telescope page. --zandperl 01:46, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I added a section about the leasing of the site from the Tohono O'odham. I took it from the page about them. It is relevant since their is an ongoing controversy about the use of sacred lands for the observatory. malatesta 21:10, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunate Incident[edit]

Although not very uplifting, apparently an unusual death occurred at the observatory in 1987. The only reference I have seen is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_unusual_deaths. Some mention could be added to the article. SquashEngineer (talk) 13:32, 7 June 2022 (UTC) Cheers.—InternetArchiveBot (Report bug) 10:14, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
