Prisoner massacre[edit]

Does the claim that the Americans massacred Japanese who were attempting to surrender really have enough credibility to be worth mentioning? Or at least worth mentioning as if it was credible? 128.165.87.144 15:06, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that it does, whether credible or not, as the claim was used as one of the excuses by the Imperial Japanese Supreme Command when it issued orders that prisoners of war were no longer to be taken in southeast Asia and the Pacific fronts. --MChew 15:36, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The cited source for that statement, Shokan, is in my possession and when I checked it it didn't say anything about a Japanese claim that surrendering prisoners were massacred. So, unless someone adds a citation to that statement that actually confirms it, I'll be removing it shortly. Cla68 21:00, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
