Miniature toy dicks[edit]

Is this example really common or relevant? Seems like a strange thing to mention. Whirling 21:02, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In Pop Culture[edit]

Can this section be deleted? It seems ridiculous to me, and devalues the article. How many readers coming to this page want to know about Family Guy, The Office, Buffy, etc.? --Auximines 19:16, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if kleptomania is a frequent topic of pop culture, why not? Pop culture references the way a society views a topic. To remove it would be unnecessary, and would, in fact, 'devalue' the article more than it's inclusion. Ghostwo 22:29, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FreshPrince season 01 episode 09... watching it right now. The arresting officer was the guy that played Tuvok on Voyager.

Doesn't Wikipedia discourage lists of random information and pop culture references? They're not encyclopedic in nature and they have no place in most articles. We could "add value" to articles by including all kinds of things that are not encyclopedic (how-to guides, criticisms, etc.), but doing so would not be appropriate. The "pop culture" section should be deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.177.14.36 (talk) 20:25, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

See Also[edit]

In the See Also section, the link to Psycology was changed to Svend Robinson, who does seem to be a Kleptomaniac; however, it is not specificly mentioned in the article that he is one, and I don't see what makes this case so special that it is singled out. Seeing that this guy is a Living Person, and how I can't see a good link from this article to that guy, directly and specificly, I am removing the link. I shall replace it with something else, and it can be changed back or to something else if it is not liked. SadanYagci 00:05, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

unique definition[edit]

Where would the best place to put the following definition:

Kleptomaniac: a person who can't help himself from helping himself.

I am relatively new, yet I feel this would be useful, and don't know where to put it, and how to format it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.183.251.161 (talk) 06:09, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's a joke definitiion, and it's not really helpful. Kleptomania is a fairly common source of jokes and puns in English; I don't know about other languages. Cf. "My doctor told me I have kleptomania. He said that when it gets really bad, I should take something." 72.182.33.219 (talk) 02:27, 16 March 2015 (UTC)Eric[reply]

Treatment[edit]

I think there should be a treatment section. It could be helpful. UMADWiki (talk) 23:14, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

The whole article needs a clean up, and a massive increase in citations. Demonrhys (talk) 06:04, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article needs more citations throughout. There are lots of definitions describing kleptomania without citing the source. The language in the article could also be changed. Some portions of the page could be eliminated because they are not relevant to the issue. Abby rucks (talk) 17:35, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

intrusion thoughts?[edit]

Don't you mean intrusive thoughts? 71.139.171.89 (talk) 19:31, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Turexpert (talkcontribs) 13:50, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate image[edit]

The image of a woman stealing a shoe is inappropriate (and somewhat bizarre). It reinforces negative stereotypes surrounding women and should be replaced. 86.26.245.146 (talk) 12:02, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Come on, you are being overly sensitive. The photograph does not imply that women do this more than me. Drkirkby (talk) 13:38, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
