Improving this page[edit]

Diagrams/photos describing the grips would greatly aid the descriptions.

Also some mention of the various schools of thoughts regarding target cutting areas, and the implications of.

A legal section, describing laws regarding offensive and defensive actions with knives would be handy too.

  • Images would be a definite plus. I don't think a legal section would work - a fight involving use of deadly objects would be governed by the same laws if the objects were knives, rocks, bats, or stiletto heels. There's a difference if it's a gun. bd2412 T 04:40, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • This page is pretty damn awful. Basically nothing more than nerdy film references. How about some actual real world info? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.45.216.151 (talk) 14:02, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Any thoughts on dumping the Pop culture section? I really adds nothing to the understanding of the topic.--Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 19:53, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Knife fights and useage in the military or similar; for rappelling, etc. E.g. Navy Seals in the Gulf of Aden, stabbing a Somali pirate. David Bellavia in Fallujah. WW2 and WW1; all kinds of instances. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.110.212.119 (talk) 08:05, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

why does this exist?

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I deleted the dead link to the archive - https://web.archive.org/web/20110114231341/http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ Because this link leads to an article of Major Rex Applegate who in his article only mentions the Infantry Journal, December 1943. While the very article of this man we can not consider as a reliable source. If my colleague provides the original of the article in 1943, we will be able to study it and after that make a conclusion about the reliability of the link to the web archive I remind you that in Wikipedia we are not interested in personal opinion, we are interested in verifiable facts and reliable sources.
