Dark Star[edit]

This was also attempted in "Dark Star" to demonstrate the effect of excruciating boredom on the crew. Needless to say, the guy didn't get far before stabbing himself and looking for some other activity to perform. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.112.170.96 (talk) 13:32, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Bishop"[edit]

I'd like to know the history of it being called "bishop." Was it named that before the reference in Aliens? Kgeis (talk) 21:59, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Could use an image[edit]

This article could use an image, maybe a drawing of a hand+knife or hand+pencil. --82.170.113.123 (talk) 20:16, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What is wrong with the picture I added and got removed?Universe Greg (talk) 14:17, 25 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lyrics need updating[edit]

Rusty Cage (The origin of the knife game song) uploaded a new video that updated the song lyrics.

Ironically I actually just came here to do that.. But since yours is nicely formatted, I may do a few modifications to make it look as pretty. Ordubis (talk) 15:42, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the lyrics from the article (and also from the above posting) because they do not appear to be free and they do not seem critical to understanding the article topic (see Wikipedia:Non-free content). DMacks (talk) 08:50, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I really enjoyed your article. I had seen videos of the game prior to reading your article, so I enjoyed learning more about the game and its purpose. MadisonLiggio (talk) 14:55, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"Stabscotch"[edit]

Is this really a legitimate name for the game? It seems to have been a throwaway joke (Peggy Hill suggests the name) in King of the Hill series 3 episode 22. 2A00:23C5:FE0C:2100:BC:6DFB:88F:A5F7 (talk) 22:39, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I removed it. Anyone is welcome to add it with a WP:RS. DMacks (talk) 23:33, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Other names need citations[edit]

We can't just write what we've heard or something we saw somewhere on the internet or a throw-away line that hasn't attracted independent reporting. Instead WP:RS is a Wikipedia standard. I've tagged the first sentence, and plan to clean up uncited ones in a few weeks. DMacks (talk) 23:36, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pop-culture section[edit]

Per MOS:POPCULT, we need independent refs, not just a laundry list collected by wikipedia editors. I don't doubt that these TV programs and films have this game in them, just the appropriateness of including an uncritically-analyzed list of them. DMacks (talk) 23:40, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pullquotes[edit]

The majority of the lede is two multi-sentence quotes from two individuals' autobiographies. It's not clear what details about the article-topic these quotes are intended to illustrate that couldn't be done in summary prose (see MOS:QUOTATIONS). And it's not clear how these two individuals—John Armonas (b. 1939) and Herb Hicks (b. 1934)—are any authority on this topic. Neither seems to have a Wikipedia article and neither is attested as someone known for anything related to this topic (does not seem to meet WP:RS). DMacks (talk) 23:45, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. And those publishers are... not great. Brycehughes (talk) 01:20, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
