Possible vandalism

The recent edit made by User:216.229.176.68 could be vandalism, based on their history, but since I know nothing about Knight Online, I can't be sure. Anyone want to check the fact and fix it? - Gobeirne 20:49, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

Well, I play Kight Online, and I didnt see any new/wrong info in the article. Tho Im not completely sure what you mean, so if you specify alill, I can give you a better answer.

And its also my first time on this site, dunno how suff works here.. If the term "vandalism" has a special meaning in this context that Im not aware of, please enlighten me. :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by SameFaen (talkcontribs) 20:11, 30 December 2005

Piece of Crap

This whole article is a real piece of BS. Maybe with the exception of the Controversy section (which looks like it got vandalized at the end), all the other sections are written in improper, broken English and leet slang. Obviously this says something about the KO community... I say this article gets overhauled or else it should be deleted (please forgive the harshness =P). 66.109.236.193 17:14, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

This is horrible

This has to be the most poorly written article I've ever seen. I'm thinking too many people have their hands on this one. It doesn't even have all the seperate professions and their skill trees. Definately needs work...maybe when I have time I can fix a few things. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Boonewh (talkcontribs) 21:28, 24 February 2006 May 5, 2006 update: Whoever came and cleaned this up, thank you! Article looks much better. Now if the 12 year olds will just leave it alone we'll be good. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.189.62.84 (talk) 16:24, 5 May 2006 yes this 1 looks better — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.160.129.109 (talk) 01:03, 10 October 2006 isnt this kinda out of date because the fire drake expansion is out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.160.129.109 (talk) 11:54, 11 March 2007

Lame

Someone defaced the article so I changed it back to an old revision. I might come back and edit it soon, we'll see. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Astanix (talkcontribs) 04:26, 6 March 2006 I started editing it and realised I just don't care enough about this game anymore to edit this article. It would most likely just be read by a bunch of turks anyway... :( — Preceding unsigned comment added by Astanix (talkcontribs) 04:53, 6 March 2006

KO Slang

I'm considering nuking the KO slang section. Wikipedia is not a guide to neologisms, and a large number of these probably apply to other MMOs anyway. --Hetar 23:59, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Back One Revision

This looks terrible. I'm going to try and move it back one revision. The previous one looks like it was more clean then before. GreatG 03:12, 1 April 2006 (UTC) all you guys do is complain about this page and say you are going to fix it, but none of you do, so shut it — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.113.27.108 (talk) 16:19, 4 April 2006

Quality Standards

In the past week this article has been improved significantly and I believe that it is no longer necessary to have the cleanup tags at the beginning. On a seperate note, I'm wondering if it would be an improvement to add each individual skill from each skill tree. This may be too extreme but I will consult other RPG articles. --Tanner 11:09, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

I love this game. best ive seen online. nice guide. keep up the good work. i tried playing world of war craft, but was too poor to pay the subscription.

"Notes" Section

It seems that the notes section voices a POV. The "The game lags horribly." comment isn't true for everyone (it works fine for me) and it looks like the code is messed up. FinalHeaven 04:32, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

yes when i play the game never lags Drrake — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.160.129.109 (talk) 01:07, 10 October 2006

I believe we should add the following link...

No thanks. Under Wikipedia policy links to unofficial forums or non-notable websites should be avoided. Please remember that Wikipedia is not a mirror or a repository of links. Thanks,  Netsnipe  ►  03:16, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

External Links

Knight Online USA Version

Knight Online Malasian Version

Knight Online Japanese Version

Knight Online Korean Version

Those are the 4 big hosters of the Knight Online game all 4 websites should have a link on the buttom of the article. NOT only the USA version, that would be just undemocratic.

Honestly I even think the Chinese an Taiwan version should be included.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Spaasje (talkcontribs) 19:21, 4 November 2006

This is the English Wikipedia, so we only need links to the English versions- if you feel so strongly about having the other links, create them in corresponding Wikipedias (the Japanese article already contains it by the way). According to WP:EL, most foreign-language links should be avoided unless they're crucial or contain maps/diagrams not available elsewhere.
Also, if you see the disclaimer "post on the talk page," it means you should discuss changes here before making them. Oh, and you deleted the disclaimer entirely, though I'll assume that was accidental. --Wafulz 19:31, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Malasian Servers are also English, so I assume they can be added also. Yes I messed up with the disclaimer, sorry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.123.14.6 (talk) 09:55, 6 November 2006

Permission to add link

I have used this time and time again, and it seems to be very accurate. The owner, Hypnos, devotes quite a bit of effort on this site, and it shows. It's constantly updated, organized, and to be honest, better than wikipedia in terms of KO. http://www.kodb.info Viper1991 01:51, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

I LIKE PIE AND THIS ARTICLE IS PRETTY GOOD BUT IT STILL NEED REVISIONS PLEASE DO NOT ERASE THIS 162.84.239.174 17:59, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

New problems

It should be mentioned in the article that the account confirmation emails for newly registered users are not being sent out since january 2007, so new players can't begin playing. Admins have manually activated those accounts registered between 1st and 8th March, but the problem is not solved, so if someone would to like to begin playing now, it would not be possible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.200.182.235 (talk) 19:03, 11 March 2007

Criticism

"Some players feel that K2 software does not do enough to prevent/stop "Macroers" who use third party programs to gain an unfair advantage over other players in violation of the Terms of Service. This results in many duped items and money, which in turn creates inflation-a large problem in the game."

So it says in the article. This indeed is true, but most (and I mean vast majority, like 99.99%) of macroers do not use these programs to dupe money (coins) or items, but to gain unfair adavantage in leveling. What they do is log in the game, turn on the macro and let their character gain experience points while they, in fact, are not playing it (but the macro program is). I think there should be another sentence regarding duping, since most of duping comes from bug exploiting (in my ~3 years long KO career I've heard of only one program made for duping, and only one person had the access to that program). The game (at least USKO version) was always full of bugs and cheaters always used to find a way to exploit those bugs, sometimes to gain undeserved experience, but mostly to dupe items/money.

BTW, I deleted one of two "servers" parts of the article since it appeared twice Z0r04st3r 01:47, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

I would say that is likely true, I have not yet played this game but I am downloading it. In my experience with runescape the game is also overloaded with people using macro's to level/gain items to sell for gp, as well as accounts. Jagex has attempted and recently added an update that they say will ban all people who real life trade. I would think in an online game as popular as KO that they would be able to prevent duping. They know the code they can't be so unknowning of the game they wrote to prevent the cheats from being availiable.
Also this article should include information on the experience leveling system, such as how much exp it takes to level. Not just that there is not enough information on the p2p pay to play cost, and I think that would be a good addition to this page as well. --Topcount345 17:39, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Someone should probably raise a counterpoint to the BBB rating. In order to remain neutral it should be mentioned that the BBB rating of F largely comes from free2play accounts making reports and claims based on ignorance of the terms of service. Also someone should probably add that much of the downtime lately has been due to hardware upgrades by their ISP --— Preceding unsigned comment added by Pr0ximale (talkcontribs) 16:07, 27 April 2007

Technically, that line should be deleted. This article is about Knight Online, not the K2 company. - Charleca 17:05, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Just wondering why the Criticism section was deleted when all the information on it was accurate —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.242.147.22 (talk) 22:17, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

A more general write-up needed

Can someone write a better description of the gameplay? I have no idea what players DO in this game. What are the goals? What types of areas exist and what is possible within them? See the World of Warcraft article under gameplay for an example.

An explanation of why the game is the 4th most popular MMORPG in the world would be nice. What games is this similar to and what sets it apart from them?

Thanks. Hirebrand (talk) 00:58, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Notability & References

This article does not contain any information as to why it is notable, and is completely unreferenced. In looking a little bit, I noticed the German entry (here) contains quite a few references. Can someone who speaks German copy those references into this article? BradV 16:34, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
