Political activity[edit]

This page is a disambiguation for Koch brothers. The purpose of the page is to direct people who type Koch brothers to the individual pages for each brother. In the see also there is a link to an entire page dedicated to political activity, so there is no need to include opinions regarding that here. Violates MOS:DAB[edit]

This page doesn't follow the standard disambiguation page format. It needs to be edited to follow MOS:DAB. FurrySings (talk) 01:28, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am going to fix the pages to follow the standard arrangement, following MOS:Disambiguation. FurrySings (talk) 15:24, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

RfC: status of redirect[edit]

This title has had several incarnations over the last month or so:

  1. A description of the two sons of Fred C. Koch, Charles G. Koch and David H. Koch
  2. A redirect to political activities of the Koch brothers
  3. A redirect to Koch family

Consensus is needed on this matter from the wider community to prevent future edit wars. Viriditas (talk) 23:19, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Political activities Most references I see to the Koch brothers are discussing their role in politics. Ego White Tray (talk) 04:50, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect to Koch family. Uninvolved editor summoned by RFCbot. The header on the Koch Family's page takes care of people who are looking for information on political activity, and BLP searches should result in BLP pages. Andrew (talk) 08:47, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Koch family, as the article title "Koch brothers" suggests a bio article, not a political write-up. Yes, I realize the Koch family article has become political, but that is a problem that can (and should) be corrected. Belchfire-TALK 08:51, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • redirect to Koch family; merge Political activities... into that article, as that aspect is what people are most likely to be looking for & what they as a family are best known for. It ought to be political, in the sense of being about their politics, but of course still NPOV. DGG ( talk ) 05:04, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Koch family seems a sensible redirect target. In addition, the family article should explicitly identify who is included in the term "Koch Brothers" for clarity. --j⚛e deckertalk 17:41, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Koch family If this does need to be changed, Koch family seems like the best option. The Political Activities would fall under WP:RECENTISM this close to the election. Dreambeaver(talk) 21:52, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • family in blizzard-like conditions here. And we should also merge the other silly season articles while we are at it Collect (talk) 00:56, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Political activities Better still to rename that article "Koch brothers" so that we can stop arguing about whether their support of the Tea Party and right-wing views constitutes political activities. TFD (talk) 02:40, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Either Political activities redirect or a redirect from that page to this one (with content merged) as The Fource Deuces suggested. --Varnent (talk)(COI) 17:47, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Koch Family It's easier to find the limited subset of politics from the broader Family page than it is to find biographical info from the politics page. Their philanthropy and history is much broader than their politics. --DHeyward (talk) 05:44, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
