I changed this back to a disambiguation page for the following reasons:
1) The Japanese page is also a disambiguation page.
2) All the information in the new page could be found in the pages for the specific building
3) I have yet to find anything that says Kokugikan as a word in and of it self that deserves its own page. Maybe if there were kokugikans all across Japan, or the word kokugikan was used before the original Kokugikan was built in the early 20th century then it should have its own page. But, as far as I can see, there have been only four -- two with the same name, three have been built by the same organization (the JSA) to be used consecutively, not concurrently, with one more built by the Osaka Sumo Association that was never replaced. Many non specialists are going to type in Kokugikan looking for the current Kokugikan in Tokyo, but people with an interest in history might be looking for the other kokugikans. In then, though, Kokugikan as a word is more like Budokan than arena, and shouldn't have its own article.—Preceding unsigned comment added by XinJeisan (talk • contribs)
The original issue here was to resolve unfixable dablinks, which are always frowned upon; the intent was for this to be a parent article. It links to all pages that were on the dab, so people who need more specific information can find it, yet presents a general overview. For those who want to see why "Kokugikan" has been synonymous with "Tokyo basho" over time (and thus is used by itself in various templates), the issue is solved that way. It's possible that the information on the Osaka Kokugikan is unnecessary, but I disagree that the word refers more to the individual buildings than to the concept of a "sumo [国技] stadium". The word is treated individually, for what it's worth, from the individual stadiums in my electronic dictionary, which describes the term serially in much the same way as the parent article I created. I'm inclined to revert this for the sake of the links, but perhaps it could be revisited if we can think of a different way to fix them.
