Release date[edit]

I'm on version 1.3 (for KDE4), but no idea when this was released. Their website seems dead. --Terrible Tim (talk) 22:03, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Kontact (and all other KDEPIM apps releases) happen together with a KDE release. There is no separate roadmap like for KOffice or Amarok. --KAMiKAZOW (talk) 04:57, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

I'm in the process of merging various articles into this one. It's pointless to have separate articles for Kontact, KDEPIM, KMail, ect. No article is long enough to justify a separate article. That separation just lead to outdated information everywhere (eg. KAddressBook's latest release date was stated to be May 31, 2005). --KAMiKAZOW (talk) 04:57, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Some random IP user reverted my merging work. In case you want to do it again, I hope you read this: As long as you don't improve the individual articles significantly (and maintain them in the future), please leave it this way. For example, look at this: Comparison 2005 to 2009. The updates are almost non-existent. I'm really trying to put some effort to bring the info of the Kontact/KDEPIM suite up-to-date. I'm not saying that the outcome will be the best article ever (hardly so, especially because I'm a little ill right now), but at least the article will be usable unlike the mess with lots of different outdated articles. --KAMiKAZOW (talk) 04:01, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Palm[edit]

Please make clear whether it contains applications (kpilot or other) to synchronize with palm pda devices. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.57.162.24 (talk) 01:41, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OS[edit]

I'd do this, but I'm not sure I'm right. Assuming that Kontact runs only on Linux, could this be mentioned int he article? Or, if this is not correct, could the operating systems upon which it runs be listed? Many thanks. Xenophonix (talk) 16:02, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • It runs on modern Unix-like systems and somewhat current Windows version. The article says that much. --KAMiKAZOW (talk) 03:20, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

KMail Criticism[edit]

Kmail did not work well in Debian stable, and I found other users who swear KMail is too buggy. For me, KMail would lose parts of drafts. Ketef (talk) 03:07, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

KNode/News[edit]

KNode is no longer used in Kontact and is unmaintained. It's replaced with Akregrator as the RSS news provider. Justin015 (talk) 23:08, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
