Year in Movie

• I can prove your theory wrong: Spongebob won 374 consecutive employee of the month awards. which is 31 years, and 2 months. Spongebob joined the Krusty Krab in 1998. So, 31 years and 2 months would basically be around, well, 2029/2030. and IF The movie took place in June 2004, SpongeBob would have started working there in April 1973. 1973 is 4 years BEFORE the Krusty Krab opened, 13 years BEFORE SpongeBob was born, and 20 years before Squidward started working there. The calender in Spongebob's bedroom AND the calender at the Krusty Krab both are in March: March 7th has a drawing of the Krusty Krab 2 in Spongebob's room. When he updates the Krusty Krab calender, Plankton says: "March 14! No wait, it should say the day that Krabs fries!" -AMK152

• Not true. anything can happen in a cartoon (or movie for that matter), including but not limited to a month being a day long, so maybe he got an employee of the month every day of the year 2003.
  • Notice: MONTH...in the employee of the month episode, SpongeBob showed Squidward a calender with "ONLY ONE DATE" labled Employee of the month, where Mr. Krabs announces who will be the Employee of the MONTH for that MONTH. (A month being 28-31 days) So, even in SpongeBob, the calender is logical. -AMK152
  • Also, Squidward's reputation. Why would Mr. Krabs make him Manager at first if within the years 1998-2004 (only 6 years) Squidward has been labled as a "bad employee" in The Krusty Krab Training Video. He disliked Krabby Patties until the episode, "Just One Bite," he quit when Pearl took over the Krusty Krab, he quit when Patrick joined the Krusty Crew, he quit when Mr. Krabs blamed him for stealing a dime, and he has no Krusty Krab spirit. He even STARTED A STRIKE. And he HATED the fact the Krusty Krab was opened late. In only 6 years. The only logical way for Squidward to get a better reputaiton is the years leading up to 2031.
  • To our anonymous friend: DO NOT EDIT OTHER PEOPLE'S COMMENTS. Also, I really don't think that SpongeBob episodes take place in a specific year. It's a cartoon, not 24. tregoweth 05:59, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
  • The Krusty Krab was established in 1954 in the episode "Hooky", I have proof. Mr. Krabs says that nobody took breaks from the Krusty Krab since the chum famine of '59. Maybe the main characters were born earlier in that episode. Patrick-1943 SpongeBob-1946 Mr. Krabs-1892... Each episode probably has a different timeline.

Okay, I have gone through certain sources (a couple episodes) and other information to come to the conclusion that the year in the movie can not be determained due to the fact that a) the year SpongeBob was hired is not accurate b) squidward could have won employee of the month between SpongeBob's first day at work and the movie, changing the year. -AMK152 13:09, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Issues with...Everything!

I find a lot of the information in this article hardly believable. One, where are the sources? I understand that the show itself could be treated a source (Or could it?), but I've seen most (if not all) episodes, and many of the facts in this article don't even exist there. Secondly, where did all of these dates come from? 1993? There doesn't appear to be any calendar in the SpongeBob Squarepants universe, excepting April Fool's Day. I don't recall any sort of "New Year's Day" episode, implying that every episode has taken place in the space of about a year. krusty krab

krusty krab is not a parody of mcdonalds, mcdonalds is a francise, krusty krab is not its owned locally just like a lot of local burger joints. and they even made fun of mcdonalds when krabs sold out to a franchise called o'gradys where it was a assembly line fast food joint. i see hardly anything in the show that would implie that the krusty krab is a "mc donalds". i think it needs to be deleted unless theres some sort of link that can be afford to prove that statement.Curefreak

Contradiction

I put up a {{Contradict-section}} template over the hours. It says first that the Krusty Krab is open from 8:00 to 6:00, then says that the Krusty Krab is open 23 hours a day. GangstaEB took it down; I'm putting it back up for now.--the ninth bright shiner ^talk 16:33, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Years

I want to clear up everything about the years, or things around it.

• 1) The Krabby Patty recipe was not discovered by Mr. Krabs, but created by his ancestor, King Krabs. Mr. Krabs mentions that the recipe is an "old Krabs Family Recipe" his mother even knows the formula.
• 2)The Krusty Krab did not begin in the 1970s. There was a chum famine in 1959, in which the Krusty Krab had existed. Mr. Krabs was born in 1942, so he was 17 or younger when he started the resteraunt. (Note that he was a "financial genius" since a young age) (1977 was ABOUT the year when Plankton first tried to streal the formula.
• 3) It is unknown when SpongeBob or Squidward started working at the Krusty Krab.

Spongebob started working there whenever the airdate of the episode, "Help Wanted" was.
