Article tense[edit]

This article uses inconsistent tense. Is the mook still available for purchase (not resale) at conbinis?--ZayZayEM 14:06, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Encyclopedic?[edit]

The perpetrator of this silly book claimed that he wanted to start a public discussion on this non-issue (and not to fan far-right embers or to make money, oh no, of course not); and guess what, the dreck (which might otherwise have drifted off into well-deserved oblivion) is immortalized by Wikipedia. Great!

Incidentally, was/is the author of the Times piece really the Asia editor? The top of that page says "Where am I? / Comment / Columnists / Guest contributors". -- Hoary 01:29, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The by-line for the article clearly says Richard Lloyd Parry (who, not being a regular contributor to the UK Times is a "guest contributor"). Your personal feelings about a topic are not guidelines for notability. Wikipedia is not censored. --ZayZayEM 04:18, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure you're as disappointed as I am to note a lack of any Japanese article about this opuscule, but perhaps some ja:WP-editing criminologist will be inspired by the existence of this article to create a Japanese equivalent. Category:Crime in Japan - seems to be mooks topic
Category:Foreign relations of Japan - also seems to be mooks topic
Category:Japanese literature and Category:Japanese media - this is a Japanese mook, until a Category:Mooks is created, this article belongs in both these cats
Category:Racism - this book has been deigned racist by various sources

Almost obvious

Category:Ethnic groups in Japan - this mook seems to deal with this topic
Category:Anti-Chinese sentiment in Japan - and this one
Category:Japanese society - this is a mook about the actions of foreigners in japanese society as perceived by certain factions of japanese society

Conceivable

Category:Japanese culture - similar to "Japanese society", but is this book of cultural value, or about cultural value?

Debatable

Category:Japanese law - this mook does not seem concerned with legislature, it is tied conspiratorially to some laws that have been passed
Category:Japanese values - this seems to be pushing a POV that the concerns expressed by the mook are to do with some sort of unified Japanese sentiment. As valid as this supposition may be to hold, it is not affirmable by any verifiable source.
Category:Zainichi Koreans - may be better appropriated to Category:Anti-Korean sentiment in Japan per China - or both cats replaced by Category:Anti-national sentiment

English title?[edit]

On a first glance for precedent on this, I find Kino's Journey, indicating that some Japanese books (or magazines or mooks...) do have the English translated title.
