No consensus to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:13, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kyle Smith (Basketball)Kyle Smith — As opposed to the name being Kyle Smith (Basketball) I was hoping a disambiguation page could be set up for multiple "Kyle Smiths" 19:17, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Oppose This move suggestion is clearly out of order as it would mean overwriting an existing page about a different Kyle Smith. If you wanted Kyle Smith to be a disambiguation page then this was not the way of doing it. I have some doubts about the notability of the basketball coach, who looks less important than the other. PatGallacher (talk) 10:55, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And anyway, we don't need a disambiguation page when there are only two items to disambiguate. Powers T 15:15, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think you will be hard pressed to find a Division I head Men's basketball coach that doesn't have a wikipedia page. Inasmuch, the notability seems to fit firmly within Notability standards of wikipedia. It was mentioned that independent references were needed to confirm and I did add four just for this stub. I think it falls well within the notability standards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.229.91.122 (snapping) 15:35, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Further, i have reference a third external link to an ESPN article from Andy Katz about Smith's hiring, so there are many third party independent reference. I hope it can be agreed upon that this is as notable as any other Division 1 Head men's basketball coach that has his own wikipedia page —Preceding unsigned comment added by Snapping (talkcontribs) 15:44, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment The writer looks more important than the basketball coach, so he should be the primary meaning. We should stick to the status quo, except that the disambiguator should be lower case "Kyle Smith (basketball)". PatGallacher (talk) 19:46, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - in the world of basketball, this Kyle Smith may well be very notable and he might become very notable outside basketball circles, but for the time being the writer appears more notable. I agree with moving this article to Kyle Smith (basketball) as suggested by Pat. Green Giant (talk) 02:30, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
