Improved (I hope) this article today. My problem is that I know fairly well what I know, but less well where I learned it. Can someone help out with corrections if needed, references and sources? / Keinstein 21:30, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ridiculously contradictory paragraphs![edit]

Early on in "The term" section we see: "The term matches reasonably well the British term "county", but not so well the American term "county" which is usually much smaller in population, more like Swedish "kommun"." Okay, fine, no real arguments from me. However - by the end of the section we suddenly get: "Another reason for the use of "County" as the English translation of Län is because the subdivisions of most U.S. states and Ireland, which are comparable in population to Sweden, are also called "counties"." Can we please figure out which is right? Is it comparable to American county or not? Is it more like British country, or not? As it stands it's incredibly moronic, to the point of cretinism. After thinking on it for the moment, I figured I should just go ahead and toss the latter part (U.S. states and Ireland thing) out replacing it with what was there beforehand. If I'm wrong, feel free to roll it back after explaining your rationale, and tossing the first contradictory part too. If you leave the contradiction it - I'll just roll it back again. Cheers!
