Personal confusion[edit]

I really like this article. It's probably my favorite type of article; one edited by a very small group dedicated users who clearly care about an important subject. That said, I have the same issue with this article as I do with a lot featuring art or artists. A lot of it reads like a review and I wonder if it's Wikipedia's job to interpret art or even bother with intentions. Example: "infuses her passion and emotions into films about exile, wandering, uprooting, states of mind and the quest for identity". This is clearly useful information and says something important about the artist but it just seems a bit off for this site. Can we really verify stuff like this? Should we have to? Is it possible to write objectively about art?

I am personally confused and would like someone to clear this up so I can better know how to edit these articles. Dr Jarse (talk) 06:32, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review Feedback[edit]

Some of the information seems bias or seen as admiring her with some of the writing. I see this in awards and accolades and a bit in the career section. Rephrasing word choices can make the page seem neutral.

For the career section adding a bit of information about her goal for her films. This will expand the section and show the type of film work she explored.

In Pool's films, she experiments with many media types. These types include, short films, documentaries and television series. Pool had an introspective film style which is reflected through her work. A lot of her work deals with Pool exploring preoccupation in the self-analysis of the characters created in the films. Her goal for majority of her films is for the audience to reflect upon their own individuality after watching.Cite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page). Peer Review[edit]

There was a lot of great information added to the Early Life section, however it does seem out of place here. It talks mostly about Pool's career and I think it would actually be more beneficial to move the information under the Career section instead. Also, this exact sentence "Shortly after Pool started focusing on several student films until she produced her first solo film, Strass Café, at the National Film Board of Canada in 1980 " appears in both the Early Life section and the Career section, with zero differences except there are two different references. I would definitely remove this. AliceCullen4354 (talk) 21:40, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Adding translation from French Wikipedia page[edit]

Hello! I translated and edited content from the French Wikipedia page on Léa Pool for a French class and am adding it to the English page. It's mostly details about her work organized by year, though I tried to make it less of a list. I also made changes to the Early Life and Careers section as per an earlier post.
