The"Sokol" Gun[edit]

There was no such thing. The Germans used 5.7cm guns captured from Belgium (early in the War) and from Russia (after 1917). It is believed that at least some of these guns were of British manufacture, if not all. (Some of the Russian models might have been copied or made under licence in St. Petersburg)

When these guns were first fitted in the A7V, they were mounted on a trestle, or "buck mount" - in German, Bocklafette. Later, a type of conical pedestal mount was developed for the A7V-U, and then incorporated into the A7V. It was called a socle mount - in German, Sockellafette. That's how the confusion arose. Merger proposal[edit]

I suggest Stridsvagn m/21-29 to be merged with this page. The Strv m/21 was not "a Swedish development on the German World War I tank prototype LK II" - Sweden just bought their tanks from Germany disassembled and assembled them. The m/21-29 designate an upgrade that was performed on the m/21 tanks, but it was still the same tanks built in Germany. --Joeldaalv (talk) 12:49, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is already more information about the m/21-29 on the LK II page than there is here. I support the merger.--KMJKWhite (talk) 16:12, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

De-merger proposal.[edit]

IMO the articles on the LK I and LK II should be merged, since they are essentially the same story. The resulting page should allude to and then point to an article on the m/21 etc, where the story takes its own course. The LK I and II article could then be improved to include other information, such as the delivery of LK IIs to Hungary, and their fate. I agree with KMJKWhite that this LK II article contains more about the m/21-29 than about the LK II, but I don't think the chosen solution is the correct one.
