Type: National?[edit]

The roads on Spanish islands (Canary Islands and Balearic Islands) are owned and maintained by either the regional government, the island councils or local municipalities, i.e. they are not part of the Spanish national road network. This may be confusing, especially since the road indicator in this case is red (the same applies to the LZ-1, for example), which usually applies to national roads (N-XX); however, the islands seem to be an exception to this rule. Therefore, I do not think the road should be called "carretera nacional LZ-2" or "national road LZ-2".

For the templates involved, it might be worth creating sub-categories of some sort for the Canary and Balearic Islands, e.g. by using the "province" tag (GC [Las Palmas], TF [Santa Cruz de Tenerife], PM [Baleares]).

Thanks for clarifying. I will clean that up later today. I think I will keep the national type but I will edit the subtemplates so it will just output LZ-2. –Fredddie 17:59, 28 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
