Empanada picture[edit]

It's a chilean cultural center and you have a problem with a picture of an empanada, I think you are missing something here.LuciferWildCat (talk) 19:48, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's an empanada. This article is not about empanadas. Who gives a rat's ass whether they sell empanadas or not? It's an article about a cultural center. Earlier you had an image from a 1973 bombing--just as irrelevant. I'm seriously wondering if you know what this "Wikipedia" thing is: an encyclopedia. Look at WP:PERTINENCE: "Images must be relevant to the article that they appear in and be significantly and directly related to the article's topic." This is a Chilean cultural center that was founded because of a coup in Chile. Imagery about Chilean Culture and relevant history seem to meet the bill. But fine, you know what? Since your being such a pest about it, I am going to go to La Pena and buy and empanada and take a picture of it, just to put up here in spite!LuciferWildCat (talk) 23:57, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, guys, I'm here from the 3O board. First of all, after looking at your profiles, it is clear you are both valuable contributors to Wiki. So, how about showing a little civility?? Surely a dispute over a photo of an empanada doesn't have to devolve into personal attacks. (I mean, it's not like we're fighting over something important, like Buñuelos or something;) . Anyhow, I'm going to have to side with Drmies here. Yes, I get there is some cultural significance to the empanada, but it's a bit too attenuated for purposes of this article. I think if you have a picture of the actual building, that would make much more sense here. Can we all be friends now?JoelWhy (talk) 17:38, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I know it's weaksauce but since there is a lack of a better picture what remove this one?LuciferWildCat (talk) 21:43, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Knowing nothing about the Cultural Center, seeing that picture leads me to assume the place is a restaurant, or is somehow strongly identified with the food it makes. So, if the place were notable because they have a world-famous empanada, I would agree it fits. As it stands, however, it just seems out of place. I would argue no pic is better than a confusing pic (but, I can certainly see how someone could come to the opposite conclusion.)JoelWhy (talk) 21:48, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I understand your logic then, the place mostly does function as a restaurant as that is half the square footage, and the only aspect open during all business hours.LuciferWildCat (talk) 01:43, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
