Untitled[edit]

I'm surprised there is nothing on the building of Lake Texoma. I remembering learning that it was built with German WW2 POWs. And that several small communities had to be relocated due to their location. --70.130.134.167 01:09, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The story about German POWs working on the Texoma project is true. I have just found a suitable source for this info and added it to the History section of the article. Bruin2 (talk) 21:00, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Removed one of texomaland.com link. There is no need for two external links with no references.

The Recreation section needs to be updated. I don't know how many injuries occur on Lake Texoma, but the sentence about it is certainly not correct. Also, I am unfamiliar with an area called "fog bottom" (I lived near Lake Texoma for most of my life). Is it possible that the author meant "Fobb Bottom", which is an area on the Oklahoma side of the lake? Even if that was what the author meant, Fobb Bottom is west of the area where most of the college crowd hangs out. They (we) typically party at the beaches in the Enos area (particularly Middle Beach) or at "the islands" south of the beaches. 137.240.136.81 22:45, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vortex[edit]

Perhaps use might be made of a BBC article Vortex in Lake Texoma 'could swallow small boat'. JDAWiseman (talk) 10:48, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I added it under "History" Killamator (talk) 18:57, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Snake named Water Moccasins in the lake?[edit]

A Facebook post showed lots of snakes, on a boat in Lake Texoma; another FB friend suggested that the snakes killed a young boy long ago on the Deep Fork River. There's no mention of WM in the article as best that I can tell.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 11:05, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
