Contradictory[edit]

I think the second and third paragraphs contradict themselves.

Wiki flight simmer 15:08, 11 July 2007 (UTC)wiki_flight_simmer[reply]

This is because someone confused a FSB with an LZ. The 1st Cav described most of their FSBs as LZs, creating I suspect the initial source confusion. The sections "Building the LZ" and "Temporary LZs" should actually be taken out of this article, with a redirect to FSB should someone come here looking for a 1st Cav-terminology LZ. I deleted the "Building the LZ" section. Intothatdarkness (talk) 17:04, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Popping Smoke (Identifying the LZ)[edit]

Current US TTP is to NOT indicate to the aircraft what color the smoke is BEFORE the aircraft IDs the smoke color. That way, an adversary who has access to our radio nets due to compromise (overrun CP for example) is not able to throw the right color and cause confusion or misdirect our aircraft into an ambush. This was also the procedure during Vietnam after early 1966.Intothatdarkness (talk) 21:02, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Landing ZoneLanding zone — improper capitalization. I cannot move it myself because there already is redirect at Landing zone. Factsofphotos (talk) 20:43, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
