Landsbankinn

Landsbanki was split into two banks, the old one Landsbanki Íslands hf (http://www.lbi.is/) and Landsbankinn hf. (http://www.landsbankinn.is). Both are operating today. This has to be changed to two different pages, one for Landsbanki (Landsbanki Íslands hf.) and one for Landsbankinn (Landsbankinn hf.). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.104.131.104 (talk) 14:28, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

I missed this statement and made a the same one here bellow. There has been little activity on the page for some time and no respond to this request, if no one objects soon I'm going to start changes this site to correctly represents the old bank and start a new page about the new Landsbanki. Isn't the -inn just a grammatical ending, rather than a separate name (as suggested by "also commonly known as Landsbankinn in Iceland")?

It's the attached definite article. --140.180.6.184 (talk) 23:40, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Landsbanki Luxembourg S.A. has been declared in default and is currently in liquidation by the Luxembourg government. See http://www.landsbanki.lu. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.144.41.200 (talk) 14:41, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Privatisation

Strange why is there no info on the way this banc was privatized.

Why could THESE criminals buy it, and not somebody else? How could these criminals finance the whole takeover prize, beside the money they allready had themselves.

Strange ther is no info on how the owners made money with it for themselves and who sits behind then? What did these criminals do to get rich while the Islandic people are now banctrupted? How come they did not go under in this deal themselves?

By the way what was the ethnic and religious background of all those people when we look way back? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.168.243.40 (talk) 21:48, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

That might be going into too much detail, this article has to be as neutral as possible, but I will look into collection references about the privatisation of Landsbanki Einsiol (talk) 23:27, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

update needed

Can someone update this article to fully account for the financial crisis. The 2008 government take over is about the last thing discussed. Since then the bank has gone out of business and its internet subsidiary Icesave has resulted in an international conflict for Iceland. The current article however claims the bank as a strong, even leading international consortium. Arnoutf (talk) 11:40, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

I will look into this Einsiol (talk) 23:28, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

Two bank, two pages needed

This article is misleading, the bank called Landsbanki to day is not the same one as in 2008. The old one that is now in receivership is now called LBI hf. and the correct link to its website is http://www.lbi.is/ The new one is called Landsbanki Íslands and is state owned. There need to be made a decision, either the information on this page has to be changes to represent the new bank and another page made for the old one, ore the other way around. If not the page has to be orientated to represent correct information about the new bank in the introductions. I personally think it need to be two pages. Einsiol (talk) 03:58, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
